A new formulation of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) tubing has been developed for fluid transfer in the biopharmaceutical industry: AdvantaFlex.
AdvantaFlex addresses the need for a flexible, translucent, sterilizable, moldable, heat sealable, and weldable biopharmaceutical tubing for fluid processing. AdvantaFlex maintains its physical properties following sterilization processes, resists kinking, remains translucent for visible product flow, and does not become gummy. Additionally, the unique properties of AdvantaFlex help it outperform similar tubing in peristaltic pumps.
Key Features
Excellent life in peristaltic pumps
Sterile weldable and heat sealable
Now available as leak - proof molded connections ...

White PTFE or Black Conductive PTFE Core; Smooth or Convoluted I.D.
Stainless steel braided PTFE hose is constructed of virgin material with a series 300 stainless steel wire braid reinforcement jacket. The fluoropolymer core is inert and offers long flexural life, low permeability, non-flammability, and the lowest coefficient of friction of any solid material. The stainless steel braid permits higher pressure uses, reduces the possibility of kinking, and generally protects the core. Optional silicone jacketing offers protection from high temperatures during handling and keeps the outer surface clean and smooth.

Made of virgin grade FEP fluoropolymer, APFRC is overbraided with a tightly-woven fabric and double spiral steel wire to dramatically enhance it's pressure-carrying capability. It's extremely smooth core offers excellent chemical resistance and is USP Class VI approved. An outer jacket of EPDM rubber provides enhanced durability and seals the hose against dirt, chemicals, or other external damage.
APFRC is now available in a more flexible version. APFRC-W-FLX offers the same physical properties as the original version, however, a noticeable difference is seen in larger I.D. sizes in tight-fitting applications where added flexibility is required.
